Face Routine

Hi fashionistas,

Its a bit late but today has been a rush day, yet I wanted to take the time to write this post. I want to emphasize something that I believe most people take for granted, which is a good, daily beauty routine for the face. A lot of people say that the key to a flawless makeup is a good base to start with (in this particular case it's the skin of the face). And they are completely right! One of the most important things is to drink a lot of water! For those of you that don't like water, there is a new trend called infusing which is basically taking your favorite fruit dropping it in the water and letting the water rest for a while so it can absorb the flavor and nutrients (I hope to do a blog on this shortly :)). After drinking water, its important to have good products to help clean and revitalize the face. I'm going to tell you about my face routine so you have an idea of whats important (FYI most of the products I use are found in drugstores and are not too expensive so they are good alternative).
I have combination skin, this means that in some areas it is oily and in others it is dry. Not only that, but I am prone to acne which makes things worse. So to start off I use Cetaphil DermaControl as a facewash to help control the oil in my face without over drying. After, I use Origins Balancing Tonic to make sure I get rid of all the dirt and help balance the skin while leaving it feeling fresh. Finally I use a moisturizer; I have two which I use in different occasions. Dermatopix is a light, all natural moisturizer highly recommended by my dermatologist which I use underneath my makeup or for an everyday use. I use Neutrogena's moisturizer on those occasions in which I am going to be exposed to a lot of sunlight because it has SPF 15. And finally, once or twice a week I use a scrub to prevent new acne from forming and to really renew my skin.
As you can see 3 easy steps that don't take too long. Its about cleaning the face, balancing with a tonic, and finally moisturizing to protect it from everyday pollution and harmful things. The important thing is to look for things that will help your face not damage it. For me, the more natural it can be the better, though sometimes it is expensive. So I opt for products that give me some natural ingredients that can help like vitamins, cucumber, mint, etc. Its all about what works for you.
Hope this was informative; and before I forget most of the products you will see below can be found at Walgreens, CVS, or most drugstores. The only ones that would be a little harder to find are the Origins Tonic which can be found at Sephora, Macys or any retailer that sells Origins and the Dermatopix products, which I'm really not sure where to buy it since I bought it at my dermatologist so I included a link below.

Xoxo,
Mariola <3
