New Hair Products

Hi readers,

I've always had dry, wavy hair and in order to keep it moisturized, I use a leave-in conditioner after every wash. I used to use one from Dove but I wasn't able to find it, so I decided to try Neutrogena's Triple Moister. I also ran out of shampoo and did some research online and a lot of people were talking very well about Dove's shampoos and I bought Dove Damage Solutions Intensive Repair.
As for the results: In just one week I feel my hair softer and stronger with a lot more shine. I am very satisfied with my purchase and do recommend it. It doesn't have to be the ones I bought, these are just examples, but I do recommend using a leave-in conditioner to moisturize your hair and to protect it from every day harm. Hope this helps :)

Barely there Makeup

Hey readers,

Today I had an interview for a job that unfortunately I won't get because I'm only available to work in the summer and they needed someone to start right away :(. Sad for me, but good for you guys because I am going to show you my look and focus on my beauty routine for that barely there makeup I use as an everyday or occasions like interviews. Below is the picture of the outfit and a selfie (sorry it had to be a selfie I was in a bit of a rush).

As for what I do, bellow are the products I use and the steps, still I'm going to give a little briefing on the steps. 1) I use concealer in my eyes as a primer and to cover blemishes. 2) I use the CC cream (I already presented this product on my previous post) as foundation. 3) I apply powder with a brush just to take away a bit of the shine a make everything look even (the one I use is from Clinique). 4) This is a pallet my mom got me for christmas so any pallet of colors will do; I choose barely there colors just to give it a little bit of color. In this step I included blush because its from the same pallet, but here bronzer and any color of blush will do. *) I forgot the picture but I used black pencil eye liner on the half of the bottom eye lid. 5) Mascara on both upper and lower lashes. 6) Finally, lipstick.

In brief, these are the steps I use. You can mix and match these steps anyway you like and use any colors you want. For me the good things about this routine is that it can become a day to night look with very little effort. And before I forget, I should have used a bit more of blush and lipstick, but I was in a rush. Hope this posts help some of you out there!

Makeup

Hey,

Today's blog is going to have a focus on makeup and my sort of "beauty routine". I don't like to wear a lot of makeup; I like the more natural look. So my beauty routine consists of concealer, compact powder, eyeliner, mascara, blush/bronzer, and a natural color on the lips. Yet, I feel like the compact powder wears off after a while and doesn't cover as much as I would like. And on the other hand, I feel that foundation is a bit too much for an everyday wear (again this is my opinion). I decided to do some research on what products I could use and ended up more confused than at the beginning. I went to Sephora to pick up my birthday gift and decided to ask someone (they were really helpful). They told me about the Cover FX CC cream because of my combination skin (mostly oily but in some parts dry). And I have to say I AM IN LOVE! It's sort of a big splurge if you are on a budget but for me it was worth it (it was $45). It doesn't dry my skin, every time I wear it I see an improvement with my acne, it gives my skin the coverage needed, and it feels light on the skin. Best of all, unlike other BB creams or CC creams it comes in a variety of shades; my shade is medium. I used the CC cream with the birthday gift and adored the combination. The mini lipstick is a perfect shade and the mascara gave me full thick lashes (which is odd because my lashes are really short). I took some pictures and below you can see the makeup.

For those of you looking for a CC cream or a BB cream, my advice is to go directly to a store where someone can help you. There are so many options and though they are suppose to do the same thing, they all come with a different focus. In my case I went to Sephora, but there are so many other places you can go and other alternatives that are not as expensive as the one I bought.

Yesterdays OOTD

Hii,

It's been a little while since the last time I wrote but today I wanted to show you guys yesterdays outfit. Yesterday, I went out with a couple of friends to eat and then to a very popular tourist destination in Puerto Rico, which is El Viejo San Juan. It was a super sunny day so I decided that shorts were the way to go (the black shorts are from Forever21 and I think the price was about $20). I paired the shorts with a crop top with long sleeves (not the smartest idea due to how hot the day was but still I loved the outfit), a pair of black jelly sandals just in case it rained, and minimal accessories. I added a pop of color with a purse from Coach, which I have to admit I borrowed from my moms closet :p.  Doing a bit of math, I think the entire outfit (top, shorts, and sandals) came at around $55. So a cute outfit that can be worn in many ways with very different things at a very affordable price. The picture is below, hope you enjoy it :)

Hi guys,

So... Today is my birthday!!! :) And in honor of my birthday I wanted to talk about a trend that I am currently obsessed with and dying to have: the Tulle Skirt! The first time I saw an outfit with a tulle skirt was in Sex and The City from Miss Carrie Bradshaw. I think that anyone who saw the show remembers those iconic outfits (for those of you who didn't see the show, there are pictures below). As of lately, I have been seeing those tulle skirts everywhere. There are boutiques that specialize in tulle skirts like Space 46 Boutique and they bring them in different colors and length. Other brands like BCBGeneration have them in their new collections (which is the one I'm obsessed with). I think a lot of people ask what could I wear a tulle skirt with or for what occasion? The answer is very simple, you wear it with what you feel comfortable and you use it in any occasion that you would like to use it. I don't think there is an etiquette on how and where to wear a skirt like this. So just go with your gut and with what your sense of fashion is (everyone has a different perspective of what fashion is and all of them are right). So, this is my new obsession and if I do manage to buy one I'll show you guys how I pair it up :)

Hi guys:

I was thinking about what I was going to write about while looking at the pictures on my phone and the perfect thought came up. Has it ever happened that you see a really cute outfit online, in a boutique, or at a window display and fall in love with it but can't afford it? I know this happens to  me at least once a month and to be honest kind of bums me out. The las time it happened I saw this really cute outfit of a skirt and a crop top at a boutique and was dying to ask the price, yet I didn't because I knew that at that moment I didn't have the money. I sent a picture of the outfit to my mom to try and see if she would fall for it and buy it (;p). Instead, she replied by telling me that it was cute and that it reminded her of a skirt she had bought for christmas a year or so ago. That got me thinking and it was true the skirt, though not the same, resembled it a lot. With that thought in mind, I looked closely at the outfit again and saw that I could create an outfit that really resembled it. I had a similar skirt, I had red sandals, and all I needed was a cute crop top (which was a lot harder to find than I thought). The picture below shows the outfit I wanted and the similar outfit I put together.

In brief, I wanted to share this personal experience to let you know that you don't have to spend a lot to have those outfits that fascinate us. If you have enough money or the budget to buy the outfit, then go for it! But if its a bit hard to spend the amount of money then look in your closet and see if you have anything that looks like the outfit. Or look for less expensive pieces that are similar to the outfit. It's not necessarily about the outfit, its more about the look of it!  Hope this helps :)

Spring/Summer Colors 2014

Hello,

Today I want to talk about the colors for Spring/Summer 2014. For every season the colors change; well not so much change as they look for different shades and mixes of the primary colors. This season I am loving every single color!! The top 10 colors are:

            1. Dazzling Blue
            2. Violet Tulip
            3. Radiant Orchid
            4. Celosia Orange
            5. Freesia
            6. Cayenne
            7. Placid Blue
            8. Paloma
            9. Sand
            10. Hemlock
Out of all the colors, my favorite has to be the Radiant Orchid. Since my favorite color is purple and I tend to go for pinks, I find that this color is the perfect combination of both! Sephora decided that this was going to be the color of the year, so they came up with a makeup line strictly  for Radiant Orchid. The result: A GORGEOUS COLOR! I'm dying to go to the store and try on the lipstick; I do hope it is still in stores because it sold out online :(. Still it is a color I think would make any girl/women feel feminine and fresh. If I do get the chance to try it on or buy it I'll let you know. Underneath is the picture of the lipstick and the eye pallet! Enjoy :)

In love with this new hair product!!

Hi guys,

So you may not tell from my first post, but i have really wavy and sort of dry hair. With time it just became a big mess and in order to control it, I used a product from Redken's curly hair line which sadly is discontinued. Some days my hair would be curly and pretty while others it would just look like a used broom. Tired of all that drama and halfway through my second year of college, I decided to cut my hair. So for about a year and a half my hair length was around the collarbone or a bit shorter. Then I decided that I was going to let it grow and right now its pretty long (at least for me because I was wayyy to use to short hair). But now that it's actually long, I had no idea what products I could use to get  nice, controlled, soft curl; like the one you get after you go to the beach. My best friend suggested a product and I decided to give it a go (the picture and my experience follow bellow)

REDKEN ringlet 07 & moroccan argan oil EXTRA PENETRATING OIL dry & coarse hair
This REDKEN product is medium control for the curls. It is actually really good, it hold the curls in place and leaves a really nice sort of bounce in the curl. The only problem for me, is that it left my hair sort of had in some places as if I has applied gel to the hair and I hate that feeling. To kind of smooth it out a bit I used a couple of drops from the moroccan argan oil and it actually did smooth it out, but not completely. Sometime I would feel the hard texture of gel in the hair and others I didn't. Overall, it is a good product but just not the product for me.

GARNIER Fructis De-Constructed Beach Chic

Yesterday, while at Walgreens, this product to the left caught my eye, so i bought it and I just couldn't wait to try it. So this morning I woke up took a shower and sprayed the product on hoping for the best because if not, it would mean a bad hair day at the university. The end result, well you judge. I let my hair air dry and it dried pretty fast. The texture of my hair is smooth and I just love the curls mixed with the waves!! For now this is a complete two thumbs up! Best part is it cost around $5.

If you have tried any products for curls let me know and let me know if you do try this product!!

Hi,

My name is Mariola and this is my first post. I guess first things first, why am I doing this blog? The answer, it is mostly for me. I love fashion, designers, and most of all, fashion at a bargain price. So I will be using this blog as a sort of fashion journal of things I see and like, and of things maybe I dream of having J.

For my first post, I’m going to go back to New Years Eve. I loved my outfit that day and most of all I loved the price. I was wearing a white dress by Guess, Michael Kors silver watch, and BCBGeneration high heels. My hair was simply straight and my makeup was minimal do to my tan; though usually I’m not the type of person to wear a whole lot of makeup, I prefer the natural look.

Everything, minus the watch, is from Macy’s (one of my favorite stores because of the variety of things it offers). My mom taught to buy at Macy’s and the first thing she said was to learn to be patient and look through the racks because usually there are a lot of pretty things at a nice price. And that is exactly how I found the dress. I can’t really remember the actual price but I believe it was around $95, I ended up paying around $20 for it!!!! As for the shoes I can’t really tell you the price because they were a Christmas gift, all I know is that my mom told me she found a much better price online.

Here is the picture, hope you guys like it!
